Dear MCFD Members:
A meeting to “reorganize” the MCFD RIT team was held on Tuesday, Sept. 06th. Thanks to all that were in attendance and our apologies to those that had other commitments. Scheduling meetings to meet everyone’s schedule is impossible and we hope you understand.
If you were not able to attend the meeting, does that mean you are no longer on the RIT Team? Absolutely not. The purpose of the meeting was to be presented with the Guidelines in which the RIT team will operate, address issues and move forward as a TEAM.
Attached is a survey which we are asking all MCFD members interested in doing Rapid Intervention to complete and return to the RIT Captain, Bill Killian or the Admin. Asst., Tony Blackwell either via e-mail or by dropping off at their house.
Each Company and RIT member will be issued the RIT Guidelines, but to highlight:
Minimum Staffing
to Respond: 6 qualified members
Apparatus
to Respond: Rescue 993 (Primary)
Engine 451 (Secondary, Residental)
Tower 456 (Secondary, Commercial / Church)
Meeting
Location: Catawissa & Center Sts.
Rescue 993 will meet members at the Meeting Location (even if they have a crew of 6). All members will staff Rescue 993, then utilize the Secondary apparatus as justified by the dispatch.
Minimum
Training: All current “Red Tag” members under the old system shall be qualified until December 31, 2005. After 12/31/05, all RIT Team members will need to meet the minimum training requirements as set below in the Survey. MCFD will schedule the necessary classes for ALL team members so they can meet the minimum training requirements by 12/31/05. YOUR INPUT to the survey will help in scheduling the necessary classes. ADDITIONAL training may be required at a later time to maintain your status on the team. JUNIOR FIREFIGHTERS SHALL NOT RESPOND WITH THE RIT TEAM.
Deadline to
Return the
Survey: Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005 – 2 Weeks.
DUE TO LIMITATIONS OF POSTING THE SURVEY HERE, PLEASE E-MAIL ME IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE RIT SURVEY AND WOULD LIKE TO COMPLETE IT.
