Folks:
The Mahanoy Area High School has distributed flyers asking Borough residents for donations of supplies to be delivered to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. American Cable Recyclers is donating a truck to haul what is collected. The Borough has donated the Teen Canteen as the centralized collection point.
We, The Fire Department have been asked to assist in picking up the donations to drop off at the Teen Canteen. All items that are being donated should be boxed or bagged and placed on the porch…. All we would need to do is pick up the items and take them to the Teen Canteen.
This is a general calling to all members to assist THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10TH STARTING APPROXIMATELY 9:00AM. We will need members with pick-up trucks, vans and other vehicles capable of carrying the boxed and bagged donations (fire trucks can carry a lot, but aren’t designed to carry what we will be picking up).
High school students will also be on hand to assist at the teen canteen and or in going door-to-door.
If you are able to assist, please meet at the Mah. Area High School at 9:00AM
Thanks!
